Boris Antonio Borrego, 62, passed away on February 25, 2026.

Boris was born on May 6, 1963, in Havana, Cuba. As an infant, he came to the United States with his mother and brother as they sought a new life and opportunity. In recent years, Boris experienced a meaningful and unexpected blessing when he was reunited with his son, Kellen Krause, now 44. That connection brought a special sense of joy and completeness to the later chapter of his life.

From an early age, music was at the center of who Boris was. His musical taste was wide and deeply personal, ranging from rock to jazz and beyond. Music was more than something he listened to — it was how he communicated emotion and connection. If Boris cared about you, chances are you received a song from him. Sharing music was his way of expressing what words sometimes could not.

Boris also had a love for food and cooking, especially the flavors of his Cuban heritage. Preparing and sharing traditional dishes brought him great joy, and a good pot of ajiaco was always something he took pride in making. He also loved and enjoyed a good puro straight from the motherland.

He loved being outdoors and spending time in nature. He especially enjoyed visiting national forests, being among the trees, and riding his bicycle for hours at a time. Those who knew him remember his independent spirit and his appreciation for the simple moments that brought him peace.

Boris was preceded in death by his brother, Ivan Borrego, who passed away in 2001. His family takes comfort in believing that the two brothers have now been reunited.

He is survived by his mother, Perla Borrego; his sister, Perla Hudson; his wife, Anabelle Ferrer; his son, Kellen Krause; nephews London Hudson, Cash Hudson and family members Yohama Esposito and Ivan Borrego, along with many others who will remember him in their own special way.

Boris’s life was not always an easy road, but he carried a sensitive and soulful spirit within him. Today his family finds peace in knowing that whatever burdens he carried have been lifted and that he has finally found rest.

He will be remembered with love, compassion, and the music that so often spoke for his heart.
